Finding Common Ground Through Art: TONG Global x Nicole Chui
We launched our first-ever product release in collaboration with Hong Kong-born artist Nicole Chui (@thatsewnicole). This limited-edition hand-embroidered T-shirt project embodies shared values and a vision for a more open and connected world.
The name TONG 通 represents informing, opening, and communicating. Nicole Chui reinterpreted TONG’s new identity through her bold, and disruptive artistic style. Her design highlights the importance of collaboration, complex perspectives, and cross-cultural dialogue.
The T-shirts were produced at Meat Studio and ethically screen-printed by ESP, with all proceeds supporting End Violence and Racism Against ESEA Communities. This collaboration marked the largest production of hand-embroidered garments undertaken by Nicole Chui to date, bringing modern craftsmanship to accessible wearable art.
Each piece is a layered statement of TONG’s logotype and a message on the back reflecting shared ideals of dialogue, diversity, and inclusion. Nicole Chui shared:
“TONG puts a lot of trust in their creatives and collaborators. I loved working with others in the ESEA community, creating something that celebrates a part of my identity and directly contributing to an organisation addressing structural racism and inequalities facing many today.”
Special thanks go to photographer Naomi Wong, talents Rahel Stephanie and Sky Kawano, and photography assistant Vanessa Ng for bringing this project to life.
This collaboration is a celebration of creativity, cultural connection, and ethical fashion, reinforcing our mission to communicate, connect, and collaborate across communities.
