TONG Turns Ten

 

 

We recently marked our 10th anniversary with an intimate celebration bringing together the people who have shaped this remarkable journey: former and current team members, valued clients, and trusted partners.

 

The event began with customised name tags for every guest and a fortune stick carrying our best wishes. Guests enjoyed the finest traditional Chinese cuisine from BAO while our co-founders, Adam and James, shared the story of TONG Global’s beginnings and how the company has grown with the support of our partners and clients.

 

Our partners, Gabriel and Xuan, then presented TONG’s vision for the next decade through the lens of TONG ConNext. It represents our commitment to helping more international brands achieve success in the China market, supporting Chinese brands in gaining global exposure, and connecting businesses with talented professionals, influential voices, and strategic partners across borders.

 

The celebration continued with a photo memory reel highlighting past milestones, followed by a special cake and champagne toast that brought everyone together in celebration of our shared journey.

 

A Letter From Adam and James For TONG’s 10th Anniversary

Thank you for everyone who came to join us for the night. Only took 10 years, but we manage to get everyone together.

 

For those that don’t know, we first brainstorm ideas for our business back in December 2013 in a Pret in Oxford. Social media marketing in China really seemed to play to our strengths. So bright eyed and bushy tails, we printed some business cards, made a simple website, and basically sounded tail gating our way into whichever conferences wouldn’t throw us out. For the first 5 years we doubled in size year on year consistently.

 

Whether during those early days or in more recent times TONG, it is on that has always been bridging the gap of culture communications and understanding. It’s been at the core of our business since the absolute beginning and will remain so forever in whichever domain that is expressed.

And since we started TONG, we both think extremely proud to say we’ve helped over 120 businesses now launch into the Chinese market. You’ve just seen some of the more exciting logos, Chelsea Football Club, Clinique, Fortune & Mason, Foster and Partners, Heathrow Airport, HEYTEA, iQ Students, Tiffany, Alexander McQueen, et cetera, just to name drop a few.

 

During that time, we generated billions of impressions, tens of millions of brands engagement, millions of pounds in sales. For those brands, we won awards in the UK and in China for our work beating agencies many times our size in both geographies.

 

Thank you to the partners and the other cheerleaders who perhaps advisably risk their reputation by recommending us. And of course, our biggest thank you is reserved for a wonderful team by past and present. So many of you we are happy to see you today.

 

We really do mean it when we say, thank you to all of our team, not just the ones that are here tonight, ones that couldn’t be here tonight, the ones that have worked with us in the past and that are going to join us in the future. Thank you for putting your faith in us.
