Context & Challenges

China Open Promotions — the organisation responsible for delivering and promoting China’s premier tennis tournament, held annually in Beijing as part of the ATP and WTA Tours — sought to host an exclusive gathering during Wimbledon.

Wimbledon was the ideal setting: a global meeting point for the sport’s most influential voices and a chance to strengthen ties with the world’s top tournament organisers, media, and player representatives. The objective was to elevate awareness of the China Open, spotlight major developments in Beijing’s facilities and fan engagement programmes, and invite leading figures to attend the tournament later in the year.

To achieve this, they needed a trusted partner to handle creative development, venue setup, branded materials, guest experience, and bilingual event execution.

Strategy & Execution

TONG Global’s role focused on full-service event execution, translating the client’s ambitions into a polished, culturally resonant experience.

Working from the creative concept — “An Invitation: From Wimbledon to the East” — TONG oversaw the design and delivery of all event materials and managed every detail on the day. Hosted at a private residence in Wimbledon, the event welcomed more than 50 guests, including international tennis journalists, ATP and WTA representatives, player agents, and senior figures from tournaments worldwide.
